"Beyond being a parent, sibling or child ... Beyond my profession, hobbies or faith ... Who am I?"
You may want to contemplate this question prior to your meditation routine. Then allow whatever bubbles up to surprise you. Yes! This sounds good doesn't it?
I'd like to say I have a meditation routine, yet I have no real routine. After coming out of 7 years of several wrong choices, some bad experiences and extensive loss, I struggle everyday to just make it through! I used to know who I was over 7 years ago, but much of that identity was left behind or ripped away. Somehow you've got to find self worth even when you're lying face down in the dirt ... thirsty, hungry and feeling desperate for love.
Yet, the blessing from all this hard life experience comes my answers to the Meditation Soul Question #1! If I could do it over, I'm pretty sure I would have developed that meditation routine and allowed those answers to more easily make themselves known. So now I'm putting a little more effort into finding that routine. Alas, I do feel blessed, there is nothing like real life experience to teach you what you need to know. What I've learned about meditation is that it makes those crazy life experiences a little more peaceful. Ah ... Peace and contentment. It makes life easier and more pleasant!
